COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing with Flu Shots

Waimānalo Health Center is offering COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing Saturday, November 28 from 9am to 11am at Waimānalo District Park.

The Drive-Thru is open to all and testing is free. Flu shots will also be available.
Those interested can pre-register at www.WaimanaloHealth.org/COVID-19.

What type of COVID-19 test will be offered?
Waimānalo Health Center will be conducting Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) nasopharyngeal swab tests to diagnose a current infection.

How much does the test cost?
With support from the City and County of Honolulu, the Waimānalo Health Center is offering drive-thru testing for free. 

Do I need to have symptoms in order to get tested?
No. For this event, the Waimānalo Health Center will be testing anyone who wants a test.

What do I need to bring to the drive-thru testing event?
You will need to bring a mask for everyone in the vehicle. Anyone wanting a test must also provide a photo ID.

What can I do to prepare for testing?
Pre-registering at www.WaimanaloHealth.org/COVID-19 will help to expedite testing. Please note, if you are a current Waimānalo Health Center patient who has had an appointment within the last three years, you do not need to pre-register.

No, but pre-registering will help to get you through the line quicker. We strongly encourage people to pre-register at www.WaimanaloHealth.org/COVID-19.

Will you see everyone that is in line by 11am?
Depending on the number of individuals in line and the number of test kits available, the Waimānalo Health Center may decide to close the line prior to 11am.

Is COVID-19 Testing offered at other times?
Yes! Testing is offered by appointment Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm at our health center, including a Park-and-Test option so you don’t need to leave your car. Please visit https://www.waimanalohealth.org/covid19testing for more detailed information.
Please note, the Drive-Thru testing on November 28 is free with the support of the City and County of Honolulu. Outside of this event, the cost for testing, if any, depends on the type of COVID-19 test and insurance coverage. For many, there are no out-of-pocket costs. Flu shots are also available at the health center.

Anything I should know before I come?
Waimānalo Health Center kindly asks that those participating in testing ensure their masks are worn correctly when they need to roll down their windows to engage with one of our team. Those participating in testing must also remain in their vehicles at all times.

What happens once I’m tested? Do I need to quarantine?
For the safety of all, patients are asked to self-isolate pending the results of the test.
Test results will be emailed. If you do not have access to email, please call (808) 259-7948 for your results. If test results are positive, we will call you immediately and our medical team will advise you on next steps.
