Eating Smart & Being Active - Free class series

Waimānalo Health Center will be offering the FREE University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa’s Expanded Food Nutrition and Education Program (EFNEP) Eating Smart/Being Active Classes. Check out their website for more information and resources!
Here is the summary of the nine-session expanded EFNEP:
- 1/7/2025 Lesson 1: Introduction, Food Safety and Dietary Recall
- 1/14/2025 Lesson 2: Get Moving (Physical Activity)
- 1/21/2025 Lesson 3: Plan, Shop, Save (Menu-planning)- FOOD DEMO
- 1/28/2025 Lesson 4: Fruits & Vegetables
- 2/4/2025 Lesson 5: Whole Grains
- 2/11/2025 Lesson 6: Vary Your Protein Routine
- 2/18/2025 Lesson 7: Dairy, Calcium and Bone Health
- 2/25/2025 Lesson 8: Small Changes Matter (Fat, Sugar, Salt)
- 3/4/2025 Lesson 9: Celebrate! Eating Smart Being Active- FOOD DEMO
*Lessons are 60 to 90 minutes long.
*Lessons are at Waimānalo Health Center in Goebert Training Pavillion.
*Students completing all nine sessions receive a Certificate of Completion, Eating Smart/Being Active Recipe book, and extra gifts (kitchen and cooking utensils) so students can continue to practice their newly learned skills at home.
*Classes are ideal for those responsible for minor children and merging adults (19-29 years).
