Waimānalo Health Center 'Ola I Ka Wai: Water is Life' $13 Million Capital Campaign
Quick Facts:
- The new, 2-story, 17,700 square foot facility is being built along Kalaniana`ole Highway, next to the Waimānalo Fire Station and across the street from Waimānalo Public Library.
- Construction of the new facility is projected to be completed in Spring 2019.
Waimānalo Health Center has provided patient-centered health services for its community and surrounding neighborhoods for more than 25 years. Many generations of Waimānalo keiki were born, raised, and cared for in the health center’s intimate setting. But a growing demand for services has become a call for change. Waimānalo Health Center’s timeworn trailers retrofitted to provide medical services are inadequately sized and inefficiently configured. The Ola I Ka Wai: Water is Life Capital Campaign seeks to raise $13 million to build a new health center facility for the community.
Ola I Ka Wai was derived from the Hawaiian proverb, Ola i ka wai a ka`ōpua, which means “There is life in the water from the clouds.” Each raindrop is a blessing of nourishment to the life of the land and its people. Collectively, these sustaining waters can transform a community. Similarly, Ola I Ka Wai: Water is Life, Waimānalo Health Center’s Capital Campaign, offers an opportunity to invigorate new life and uplift the community through a gathering of blessings.

About the Campaign
The health center embarked on its $13 million capital campaign in Spring 2014. The campaign was titled Ola I Ka Wai, inspired by the organization’s `ōlelo no`eau - Ola i ka wai a ka`ōpua, which means “There is life in the water from the clouds.” Each raindrop is a blessing of nourishment to the life of the land and its people. Collectively, these sustaining waters can transform a community. Similarly, the Ola I Ka Wai campaign offers an opportunity to invigorate new life and uplift our community through a gathering of blessings.
